Migration & integration
Topic overview

Where do the parties stand on immigration?

Asylum policy splits the parties into two clear camps: Vänsterpartiet, Miljöpartiet and Centerpartiet want to ease the rules and receive more asylum seekers, while Liberalerna, Kristdemokraterna, Moderaterna and Sverigedemokraterna want to keep or tighten today’s strict line — Socialdemokraterna sit between the camps. On family reunification, Socialdemokraterna instead join Liberalerna, Kristdemokraterna, Moderaterna and Sverigedemokraterna in backing further tightening. Labour migration breaks the pattern: Centerpartiet, Liberalerna and Miljöpartiet want to open a route for skilled workers, while Socialdemokraterna, Vänsterpartiet and Sverigedemokraterna are opposed.

About Polara

Polara is a personal side project by Jonas Svensson — an attempt to see whether you can build a Swedish voting compass without party colour, agenda, or political funding.

The site draws on what the parties say themselves: election manifestos, party programmes, and websites. Every position links back to its source, and uncertainty is shown rather than hidden.

Open method. No accounts. No tracking. Here to help you think, not to persuade.
